How to Throw a Surprise Party

• Select a date for the party after clandestinely determining if the guest of honor will be available.
• Call Branches and speak with an experienced event planner to help make the party a smashing success.
• Enlist the help of a sneaky assistant to create a fake activity that requires the participation of the honoree - but be sure that your assistant is good at keeping a secret and a straight face!
• Clearly print both on the inside and outside of the invitation that this is a surprise party- If a particular guest is not capable of keeping the secret, encourage them to avoid contact with the honoree until the party.
• Let all guests who may have contact with the guest of honor know all the details of the secret plan.
• Invite guests to arrive 30 minutes before the guest of honor is expected.
• Tell guests to park out of sight if possible, unless the guest of honor believes he or she will be attending someone else's party.
• Arrange to have someone call when the guest of honor is en route.
• Hold your breath and hope no one gives away the surprise!
